I remember buying this album the day it was released. There were two important changes on this release, firstly, Adrian Smith made his debut, and secondly, Martin Birch was brought in as the new producer. The sound seems more full and metallized compared to the tinny sound of their debut album. “The Ides of March” is a great instrumental opener and one can hear the beginnings of Prog Metal and where it came from.
